A Random 2 am Pep Talk to Myself.
I mean, God has plan. I might have missed out on opportunities while my self esteem wasn’t where it should have been, but those aren’t really missed opportunities- they’re reminders to take every opportunity I’m given. After all, I’m not going to look back on my life and say, “Wow, that was a great day of rest I got.” No. I must face the day and take on its challenges with a happy heart and a positive attitude. A sense of humor, an understanding outlook, and a friendly smile shall be my tools.
I WILL PREVAIL. And I will do everything to the best of my ability. And the only reason I can do any of it is because I have confidence in God. Because He is on MY SIDE. Take that.
Mah hahaha. [evil laugh] [but not really evil because it’s against evil, so GOOD laugh]
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You’ve done
Not because of what I’ve done
But because of who You’re
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I’m calling
Lord, You catch me when I’m falling
And You’ve told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
‘Cause I am Yours
I am Yours
God had a plan for Jeremiah and Paul. He has a plan for me.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:4-10
Paul was a chosen vessel before he became a Christian. So when you look at people, don’t see who they are now, but what they can be for God in the future. (Acts 9:15-16, Galatians 1:15).
God’s plan for me is just a glorious as his plan for Paul and Jeremiah. I just have to show that I’m up to the challenge.
It’s not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.
When I think it might be nicer being red, or yellow, or gold,
Or something much more colorful like that
It’s not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over,
‘cause you’re not standing out like the flashy sparkles on the water,
or stars in the sky.
But green is the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain
Or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be,
It could make you wonder why.
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green, and it’ll do just fine
And I think it’s what I want to be.
